So I'm sure you are all aware that we should wear an SPF (sun protection factor) daily. Its actually a little scary what skipping the step of an SPF can do to our skins. This post is not to terrify you all but just to educate you all on what we should be doing to protect our skins.
SPF is actually the best form of an Anti-ager which helps prevent early signs of aging.
We all have this misconception that you only need to wear Sun creams on holidays or if you're that unfortunate soul that burns to a crisp just by looking at the sun.
You may be cautious to the fact that you don't want to burn but, UV rays are strong all year round and can harm the skin no matter what the weather. Constant exposure can result in breaking down the elastin in your skin, elastin is what makes our skin plump and young looking. The most important time to protect the skin is actually in your teens & early 20s as once we hit our mid 20s our skin is already aging so its important to keep it protected while we are younger. This does not mean that once you hit your mid 20s you stop protecting it... Always protect that skin !!!
The SPF in our foundations is not ever enough to protect the skin so always apply a base spf under your spf, no it will not affect the application of your foundation.
So, as we all start preparing for holidays this year, whether its a Sunny beach side holiday or you're heading to the mountains to Ski, start making sure you are protecting the skin from today.
My favourite SPF to use is the "Comfort Zone Sun Soul" Range.
I hope this gave you all a little insight into how important it is to wear an Spf.
I will do more posts in more detail soon.
Much love as always,

Feed your skin from Within
SKINCARE is not just using cleansers, masks & creams or removing your make up before bed.
You need to be aware of what you are feeding your skin.
I remember growing up hearing people say "If you eat greasy foods you'll have greasy skin", Well Its actually very true. As the saying goes "You are what you eat".
Using supplements & vitamins is great & can be quite powerful in boosting your skin & keeping your complexion clear but there is nothing better than absorbing those vitamins & minerals naturally from tasty foods. Here are a few tips on foods to take in the get your skin nice and healthy.
1. Antioxidants.
Antioxidants can be found is many different foods but mainly in fruits and vegetables. These are known for keeping the skin looking fresh & younger for longer. Antioxidants are also Anti-Inflammatory meaning reducing inflammation which is great for Acne, Breakouts & Sensitivity.
What foods contain these Antioxidants?
- Goji Berries
- Pecans
- Artichokes
-Elderberries
- Kidney Beans
- Blackberries
- Cilantro
2. Healthy Fats.
Foods rich in essential fatty acids work to save your skins hydration making sure your skins barriers are strong and healthy. This promotes your skins elasticity meaning less signs of early ageing. These are also Anti -inflammatory as I mentioned above which reduce sensitivity & redness.
What foods contains these Healthy Fats?
- Salmon
-Avacados
- Olive Oil
- Nuts
- Seeds
3.Enzymes.
Our bodies naturally produce enzymes. These enzymes help our bodies digestive system break down our foods & absorb the good stuff (nutrients). Some foods contain powerful enzymes that increase the absorption. Some skin conditions can be caused by digestion problems so these enzymes are key in calming all of this.
What foods contain these Enzymes?
- Pineapples
-Figs
-Papaya
- Asparagus
- Spinach
4.Hydration
A huge amount of us are prone to dry/dehydrated skin. A huge reason for this is weather changes.
Dehydration of the skin can result in Sensitivity, Early signs of aging, fine lines & dullness to the skin.
Drinking water isn't always enough. Making sure to also eat your water is a great bonus to that absorption of hydration for our skin.
What foods contain Hydration?
- Avocado
- Kale
- Watermelon
- Cucumber (96% water)
- Apples
- Celery
- Grapefruit
- Tomoatoes
Making a few changes to your diet can be so beneficial to your skin. When you experience bad days with your skin always remember to try to naturally cure the problem before reaching for a mask that will probably not going to do a whole lot for you. Your body is a temple so look after it.
Invest in your skin. Its going to represent you for a long time.
I hope you found this post helpful. Please let me know what you think.

What I'm Loving this Autumn.
Hi Lovelies,
Here are my current favourite things this Autumn.
1. Cocoa Brown Shampoo & Conditioner.
Here are my current favourite things this Autumn.
1. Cocoa Brown Shampoo & Conditioner.
This shampoo & conditioner have been life changing to not just my hair but also my skin. Marissa Carter created this product to be kind on both hair and skin and I have bought bottles of it each time I'm in the shops. I would have dry-ish skin and the likes of basic shampoos can dry out your scalp and skin as it runs down your body so this has been made to be so gentle on the skin and its also perfect for anyone who suffers with eczema or any other skin problems.
2. Paco Rabanne Olympea.
I purchased this in Morocco Airport after being completely obsessed with it as my friend always wore it. When I saw it in the airport I couldn't pass it. I literally wear it everyday and get endless compliments on the scent. Definitely worth the sniff when you're in your local boots!!
3. Two Week Lashes.
I have been getting so many questions lately about my lash extensions. I go to Gloss in Navan where Tanita does my lashes and I have been so obsessed with them and just cant get enough. Gloss salon is based in Navan and You can Find them on facebook. So many of my followers have gone and got the lashes and have all been delighted so make sure to check them out !!
4. Netflix.
I have been so addicted to Netflix Documentaries lately, I don't really know what the addiction is but the likes of Auschwitz documentaries actually really interest me. I have also been loving stranger things if you don't know what that is, you need to go on over to netflix and binge watch the Season. There's so many other things I'm loving on Netflix but there are too many to name.
5. Music.
Music has always been a huge thing to me as I danced for many years and always had some kind of something playing in the background. The past while Spotify has been keeping me on track with the lastest hits and a few I have been loving are "Picture This", "Gavin James", "James Arthut" & "Selena Gomez" .
I hope you all enjoyed this post.

Where Are You Kayleigh?
Hi Everyone,
I know I have been completely off my game on my blogging this past while and I am so disappointed in myself for not posting as much as I was. I just wanted to come on and have a quick chat and explain where I have been and why my blog had to take a back seat for the past while.
I just felt lost.
My last blog post I wrote was on "Skinny VS Fat" which I posted in July. I wrote this when I was completely strict on my workout schedule and being so strict on my meal prep etc, to be honest I felt my fitness started to take over my life. I would go to the gym maybe 5 days a week which was usually the evenings after work and on my days off I would spend meal prepping and then going to the gym. This was all before my holidays as I wanted to gain as much weight as possible before holidays so I didn't look lost in my bikini by it hanging off me.
When I came back from Holidays I definitely had post holiday blues! I love travelling and anyone that knows me knows I hate coming back to Ireland after a trip away, I just want to board the next plane to anywhere but Ireland. I had such an amazing time in Morocco and didn't feel myself when I came home. It took so much energy to get me back into my gym program.
Work has also been a little crazy the last while and I have been so exhausted and drained that by the time I get home from work I don't want to go anywhere but bed so hence why the gym and my blogging got thrown aside.
So I am trying my best to get back on the road to getting my blog posts more frequent & I hope you all understand why I have been so off game. I get so many questions about why I dont post as much and I hope this explains it to you.

Skinny VS Fat.
I want to start this post by just saying that I am not writing this to offend or hurt anyone, I am literally just making a point on something that I feel quite strongly about.
I have never known what it's like to be "fat" or over weight.
Yes you are reading this either in the same position or shaking your head saying "Well lucky you".
Being judged for my size has been a huge deal since birth!
Fat Shaming is a huge NO NO and we all know that, Weight is something that no person should be judged about. What about Skinny Shaming? Is that okay? Well No, No its not.
From experience I have learned that this is actually a huge issue.
As I mentioned before, I have struggled with being underweight for a very long time. I am not an unhealthy weight but I am not what I should be. As a child I was always tiny, I would hear my relatives saying to my parents "God Kayleigh eats nothing" or "Why does Kayleigh take so long to eat her dinner, she's such a slow eater." My relatives didn't realise that I was aware of what they were saying as I listened to everything as a child and was mature before my time. I was a slow eater because my body was small so my belly would fill up quite quickly and I would take my time so I wasn't making myself feel sick. I was never a fussy child I did & still do eat most foods besides a yukky sprout or a bit of turnip. I was quite lucky to be introduced to world wide foods from a young age so fussy was not something that would describe me. People just could not understand that wolfing my dinner down was not an option, they didn't understand that my body worked in its own way, that everyones metabolism is different, my metabolism being ridiculously fast.
Comments such as "There's more meat on a butchers pencil" or "Sure Your only a skinny little thing" are all looked upon as acceptable to say.
Turn the page over...
It is so frowned upon to call someone fat or overweight. If I were to say to someone "You could lose a few pounds" or "Sure you're a bit fat" that would be completely out of order.
Now I know you are reading this thinking wow this girl should watch what she's saying. Yes I am skating on thin ice but just think for a moment how you would describe someone who is a small, thin frame; Words like Skinny, Boney, Sick, Anorexic or Twig would probably come to mind. Society sees these words as acceptable. But yet Fat, Chunky, Obese, Hefty or Large would be all the last things you would call someone who has a few extra pounds on.
To me the word Skinny is offensive but of course people will laugh and roll their eyes because of course I'm so lucky to be Skinny.
Most of you know I am currently training in the Fit Factory and slowly gaining weight which is super tough. I didn't realise how much work I actually have to put in from drinking protein shakes to constantly eating and thats tough as I have to eat more than what I already stuff my belly with.
People will laugh and say "You don't need to go to the gym" but there we go again, You don't need to go to the gym because you're skinny, but imagine me telling someone overweight that they should go to the gym? I think that would be a bitter pill to swallow.
Society has taught us that no matter what size you are you will probably never be the perfect person, you are either too fat, too skinny, too muscly, too tall, too small and the list goes on and on.
So to finish off on my very open topic I just want you all to know that Its not ok to "Skinny Shame" a person just like its not ok to "Fat Shame" a person.
I hope you can all see where I am coming from with this post. I wanted to write this for a while but could never come up with the right words to write down.
At the end of the day everyone should be comfortable with their own bodies and everyone around them should be able to accept that.
"Place your value as a person above your size, shape or weight, Your dress size is no more important than your shoe size", - Julie Parker.
Much Love,
Kayleigh. xx

My Travel Bucket List.
Travel is so important to me, I just find it so educational. Experiencing how people live their lives, different cultures, foods & more.
Here is my Travel Bucket List.
Thailand.
Thailand has always interested me as it is such a beautiful place, it looks so calm and peaceful. The sense of freedom in the big open spaces and beautiful Islands of Thailand always appeal to me.
The White Sand beaches seem so beautiful & imagine waking up in Thailand ? A dream, Thailand is on my list for next year.
Santorini, Greece.
Beautiful. How amazing does this Island look? I can literally smell the fresh sea air and feel the sun on my face. Greece has always interested me as I love Greek food and them buildings are so beautiful.
Australia.
This is the Basin, Rottnest Island in western Australia and I have always loved the idea of visiting here. Australia has been another country on my list of places to visit. I wouldn't move there but I would love to visit Australia for a month or so and see the beautiful country that it is.
Dubai.
Last but not least, The amazing Dubai. Myself and Adam have talked about Dubai since we have been together and we would love to live there for a while. Obviously not today or tomorrow but maybe down the line. Dubai has always interested me and I really hope I get to spend time there some day.
So there you go, I really hope to get the chance to visit all of these places someday. I hope you all enjoyed this post. Let me know if you have visited any of these countries and your experience. I would love to read your comments.
Much Love & Happy Travelling,
Kayleigh xx

What's In my Handbag.
This is one of those posts that I have seen lots of my favourite Bloggers & Youtubers do & I have to say its a post that I love because I'm quite a nosey person. I wanted to do this post because I got a new handbag and its rather big and contains quite a few random bits and bobs.
This is the bag that my Boyfriends Parents got me for my 22nd birthday. Its from Parfois and I am obsessed with it. Its such a deep bag and I can literally carry my life in it. The picture doesn't do it justice but I promise its fab in reality.
This is the bag that my Boyfriends Parents got me for my 22nd birthday. Its from Parfois and I am obsessed with it. Its such a deep bag and I can literally carry my life in it. The picture doesn't do it justice but I promise its fab in reality.
So here is what I personally think I need everyday, I probably don't need all of this.
Purse.
The Purse I am using at the moment is a River Island Purse. I am a sucker for these purses, I find it hard to leave River Island without a new purse. They are just so practical and fit everything I need from cards, to cash & change.
Perfume.
Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds has been a huge favourite of mine since I was quite young as my Mam wore it & still does. As I got older I became more obsessed with it and it is now my favourite perfume to wear. I find myself over spraying myself just because of how beautiful it is.
Glasses:
For those of you who don't know, I have quite bad eyesight. As a child I wore glasses & in the teens I was told I could stop wearing them that my eyesight improved. Well, that optician was wrong, I really need them especially for the likes of working on the computer or watching TV for a long period of time otherwise I get migraines that last a couple of days.
Make-Up:
This is a must have in a girls handbag. I always tend to carry far too much make up in my bag. There are always 2 foundations-Mac Moisture foundation & Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation, my Sleek contour pallet, Benefit roller lash mascara, Mac translucent powder, Benefit brow products and my catrice blush. Anything after that is a surprise that I throw in last minute.
Phone Charger:
It is the 21st century and phone manufacturers have still not made a long lasting battery. I work 5 days per week and even when Im in work doing treatments my phone still manages to die so carrying a charger is key. I cannot live without phone battery, yes I sound pathetic but I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this.
Gum:
My job is pretty hands on with being up close with clients, so I feel it is so important to have some kind of gum to freshen my breath throughout the day, especially after lunch.
Hand Sanitiser and Cleanser:
I am completely obsessed with hygiene so carrying a bottle of Sanitiser is so important to me germs make my anxiety hit an all time high and that is simply because of my job. Also carrying cleanser with me is essential as I despise face wipes and will only clean my face with cleanser. At the moment I use the Ytsara Replenishing cleansing which can be purchased in The River Spa in the Knightsbrook hotel.
Car Keys:
Well these are an essential. I only got my own car a couple of months ago so theres are a newbie in my handbag.
Hair Accessories:
I always keep lots of hair ties and hair clips in the bottom of my bag, I am known for leaving clips and hair ties everywhere but hey what girl doesn't !!
Umbrella.
We live in Ireland guys, If you don't have an umbrella in your bag best of luck surviving int this country. My Umbrella is so cute its a Cat Kidston Umbrella that my Nan got me because she is literally the most glamorous gran ever.
Food & Juice.
I am a small girl with a huge appetite and if there is no food in my bag something is seriously wrong.
Right now I have half a bar of milk chocolate, a packet of Walker Crisps cheese & onion and a belvita biscuit.
To conclude:
I suppose the contents of my bag is probably quite similar to most girls, Let me know what you carry around.
Much Love Beauties,
Kayleigh xx
